THE FUTURE OF PHILOSOPHY AND ANTHROPIC CRISIS

Abstract

In this article we discuss the theoretical considerations underlying the negative dogmatic (such as “philosophy is dead”) and dialectical (implying a separation of categorical philosophy from philosophical rhetoric) responses to the question about the fate of philosophy. We criticize the dogmatic approach from the standpoint of transcendental philosophy and show that the dialectical approach finds its justification in the same vein. In the same theoretical view we consider another condition affecting the future of philosophy - the salvation of man as the subject who creates philosophy. In some sense, the subject of philosophy is identical to philosophy itself. This brings in a theme of the anthropic crisis with its transcendental causes and determines a non-trivial conclusion: philosophy can appeal only to itself to be saved. During the discussion, we formulate a number of conditions which seem necessary (but perhaps not sufficient) for recognition that categorical philosophy which does not equal to philosophical rhetoric, is complete.
