VISUAL STUDIES AND THE FUTURE OF THE PHILOSOPHY
Abstract
The article describes the main stages of development of visual studies, outlines a range of issues relevant for this interdisciplinary field at different times. The entire history of visual research is divided into three stages: understanding private visual artifacts, philosophical understanding of gaze, the stage of “turns”. The conclusion about the role of visual studies in the philosophy of the future was made based on the logic of the development of visual studies of the XX century.
