THEORY AND METHODS OF HISTORICAL WRITING. WHAT IS A HISTORICAL EXPERIENCE?" THYSSEN WORKSHOP OF YOUNG RESEARCHERS IN THE MININ’ NIZHNY NOVGOROD STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The issue offers a review of the joint international research seminar “The Theory and Methods of Historical Writing: What is a Historical Experience?” held by the German historical Institute in Moscow and Minin’s Nizhny Novgorod state pedagogical University and supported by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation (Cologne, Germany). The seminar took place on the 28-29 may, 2015, in Nizhny Novgorod. The seminar’s participants, leading European scholars and young would-be historians, discussed a wide a range of current theoretical problems of historical knowledge as well as their employment in many particular cases.
