AS A INDEPENDENT WORK OF STUDENTS IN THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS

Abstract

The article proposes a new understanding of the role, value and proportion of independent work of students in a competence model of education, discusses the need of revision of approaches to understanding the tasks of independent work. In the article the authors consider the role of independent work of students in the educational process. The authors point to the importance of independent work of students in the modern higher education system. The most promising competencies in the structure of educational objectives, the authors identify three competencies that are directly related to independent work: the ability to educate themselves, the ability to work independently, ability to plan and allocate their time. The authors point out that the main purpose and the result of independent work of students is the development of intellectual and logical abilities and the ability to Express their thoughts, to make the results of educational and research work as well as encouraging active use of knowledge gained earlier when studying disciplines, develop skills of their application in the study of the conditions of tasks. Speaking about the importance of independent work of students, the authors suggest a methodological procedure «sinquain». The procedure of drawing up sinquan. This approach allows to harmoniously combine elements of all three major educational systems: information, activity and personality-oriented.
