THE ROLE OF THE TUTOR IN THE MANAGEMENT OF INDEPENDENT WORK OF STUDENTS

Abstract

The article presents a historical overview of the origin and development of the tutor Institute. The approaches to the definition of "tutoring", the traditional structure of the tutoring system, as well as its historical and educational significance. The basic functions of a tutor as well as the tutor’s work’ key principles are being analyzed in the article. The authors focus on the implementation of the project "The Management of the Independent Work of students" held in Nizhny Novgorod State Minin’s Pedagogical University within the framework of the modernization of the educational process in the 2015-2016 academic year. The basic modern form of tutor support independent work of students, the factors influencing the choice of forms of tutor support. The necessity of formation of steady motivation as a factor active independent work of students. The authors come to a conclusion about the effectiveness of various tutoring practices and the necessity for further systematic training of tutors.
