Статья посвящена рассказу о научной и педагогической деятельности кандидата географических наук, профессора Ивана Константиновича Орфанова. Выходец из семьи священника, посвятивший свою жизнь географической науке, прошедший фронты Великой Отечественной войны, получивший тяжелое ранение и инвалидность, Иван Константинович сохранил преданность избранному делу. Автор многочисленных научных статей и книг, активный пропагандист географических знаний, умелый организатор и научный руководитель, заведующий кафедрой экономической географии, он сплотил вокруг себя творческих, целеустремленных единомышленников и способствовал развитию российской социально-экономической географии.
Article is devoted to the story of the scientific and pedagogical activities of the candidate of geographical sciences, professor Ivan Konstantinovich Orfanova. Coming from a family priest who dedicated his life to geographical science, past the Great Patriotic War, injured, and disability, Ivan Konstantinovich kept devotion chosen cause. Author of numerous scientific articles and books, an active promoter of geographical knowledge, skilled organizer and supervisor, the head of the Department of Economic Geography, he rallied around him creative, self-motivated associates and promoted the development of Russia's social and economic geography.
