В статье дается информация о состоявшейся 15 апреля 2015г. в г. Нижнем Новгороде Международной научно-практической конференции «Теоретические и практические аспекты лингвистики, литературоведения, методики преподавания иностранных языков». На конференции были подняты, затронуты разнообразные вопросы языкового образования. Широкое освещение получили вопросы, касающиеся актуальных проблем лингвистики и литературоведения в условиях глобализации. Обсуждалась проблема взаимосвязи уровня сформированности социокультурной компетенции с пониманием аутентичных текстов. В ходе конференции обсуждались проблемы формирования профессиональной компетенции будущих учителей иностранного языка. Не остались без внимания вопросы, связанные с развитием познавательной активности студентов в процессе обучения английскому языку, их самостоятельной подготовки, объективности оценки их знаний и способности к взаимооцениванию. Одновременно с этим освещались проблемы мотивации и приемов обучения демотивированных студентов.

The article contains information on the International scientific conference “Theoretical and practical aspects of linguistics, literature, methodology of teaching foreign languages” (April 15, 2015) at Nizhny Novgorod Pedagogical University named after K. Minin. The conference highlighted diverse issues of language teaching. Wide coverage was given to issues of topical problems of linguistics and literary studies in the context of globalization. They discussed the problem of the relationship level of formation of social competence with the understanding of authentic texts. The conference discussed the problems of development of future teachers’ professional competence. A great attention was paid to issues related to the development of cognitive activity of students in learning English, their self-training, objective assessment of their knowledge and ability to peer-evaluation. At the same time the problems of motivation and methods of training demotivated students were highlighted.
